
Biography
Anita Kloss-Brandstätter is a Professor at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, where she teaches and conducts research in applied mathematics, biology, and data science. Her scientific expertise lies at the interface of bioinformatics and medicine, with a strong focus on applying statistical modeling and artificial intelligence to clinical imaging, biomedical data, and systems biology.
Her research background includes mitochondrial genetics, cancer genomics, and the development of computational approaches to support diagnosis and treatment decisions. By combining AI-driven methods with biological insight, she aims to translate complex data into clinically relevant applications. As co-organizer of the Women in Data Science (WiDS) Villach conference, she is also dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in STEM fields and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration in data-driven research.
